For our client, a major distributor of granite and marble in the Balkans, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to support financial operations. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Job Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: Perform daily accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring accuracy and timely settlements.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to budget planning and assist in the analysis of budget variances.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and support the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll calculations, deductions, and remittances to ensure accuracy and compliance with local laws.
- Expense Management: Review and record employee expense reports and maintain accurate financial records.
- Data Management: Maintain financial databases and update records with correct and relevant information.
- Additional Support: Perform other duties related to the accounting department as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Turkish language is an advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
